Product FAQ
All murals and paintings are ready to hang. It is important to use proper hanging hardware such as nails or screws for the proper weight of the piece. As with any piece of artwork, it is recommended to locate a stud on the wall, especially if it is larger or heavier.
Treat the clay mural like you would glass. Clay is delicate and can break or chip if not handled carefully. Carry and hang the work one hand on each side of the frame to prevent snapping the individual pieces due to too much pressure. Because of the fact that clay has a tendency to curl in the corners during the firing process, every piece may not be completely flush with the back board that it is mounted on and so it should never be handled any other way than on each side of the frame.
It is recommended, however not necessary, that the mural, especially those with mixed media such as added color or painting not be placed in direct sunlight over a long period of time to prevent fading. Fading is highly unlikely since each piece has a finish, however, there is never a 100% guarantee. If a piece of the clay should crack, it can be filled with a polyfill and painted over with a similar color. A damp cloth may be used to clean the mural as well as the frame.
