About Trisha
As long as Trisha can remember, she has been fascinated with the world of art. Growing up in Winnipeg, Manitoba is where she feels she began to develop a solid foundation into this fascinating world. Throughout her pre and post secondary education, she experimented with various media ranging from watercolor and acrylic painting, to printmaking and sculpture. She never imagined she would one day pursue a career in this field.
Trisha's constant curiosity and imagination led her to pursue her interests beyond the arts. In the early 1990's, she developed a strong interest in the world of recreation, fitness and nutrition. As a result, Trisha received certification in areas ranging from strength and resistance training programs to post-natal fitness and nutrition.
In 1996, she ventured down yet another creative path. Trisha's healthy way of living enabled her to branch out in the spiritual world. Upon moving to the Banff and Canmore Alberta area, she studied various forms of alternative healing. She received her first, second and advanced levels in Reiki, an ancient Japanese healing art.
Trisha's journey had just begun. These studies and various other workshops relating to personal growth and development helped her in discovering the true essence of who and where she wanted to be. She realized her passion in 1997 during a pottery and hand building class at the Banff Centre. Trisha was accepted and attended the 3-year program at the Kootenay School of Art and Design in Nelson BC, studying design, clay and mixed media.
Upon graduating, Trisha's work has been displayed in several galleries and venues within Canada. She coordinated and taught at art camps for children. In 2002, Trisha returned to Banff AB. She began teaching pottery and hand building classes for adults and children at the Banff Centre, as well as community classes for the Town of Banff. In 2006, Trisha returned to Manitoba where she continues to pursue a career in the field of art.
