I am a professional clay artist with primary focus on clay murals and mixed media.  My art has an environmental and natural theme.  The majority of my work is hand build and slab thrown. 

I use stoneware clay with a sandy or groggy texture and the pieces that I create are low fired and smoked in a sawdust filled barrel.  This creates an abstract and earthy effect.  I enjoy the combination of color and contrast and to achieve this I apply several oxides as well as acrylic washed to sections of each clay mural.  I work in a series with an environmental and natural style ranging from mountainscapes and tropical plants and flowers to simplistic Asian flair.  Clay is a medium that allows me to explore form, texture and surface design.
